Achievement description
Jim and the doors were a favorite of mine... and i always had an interest in getting to the site to drink wine with him... There was something magical about the guy... he was such an oddball... but in a brilliant way... and so when the chance presented itself... i went!
Completion description
It was a magical day... If you're into jim and the doors... then it's a must see! Too bad things have changed at the site... i believe it is now fenced in with police guards... but still worth it to visit! Here's a website and tour i put together of the day... enjoy!

We also ate breakfast with Jim... bakery fresh Napoleon's went perfect with our red wine! It took us a while to find the gravesite... we followed markings that were drawn on other people's stones and tombs... pretty eerie... There were moments of silence... sadness... laughter... and singing throughout our visit... we acted a little silly and stupid around the headstone... but fuck it... Jim wouldn't have it any other way!!! A word to the wise though... we were first turned away at the gate because I was wearing shorts... how fucking crazy is that??? But since the guards had sub machine guns strapped to there chests'... we didn't give them any shit and went back to the hotel to change... fuck those maniacs!!! But this was back in 1983... I'm sure it's all different now... It was truly a once in a lifetime thing to do... The doors and Jim's words got me through some shit growing up... as we all go through... LoL... So I'm really glad that Billy and myself got there... It was Billy who found the stone during our search... I'll never fucking forget the shallowness of his voice when he called to me... In a faint... almost saddened voice... I heard him from my left almost whisper... "I found it"... It was like reality hitting you right in the fucking face! There REALLY WAS a JIM MORRISON... he wasn't just some picture you saw in Circus magazine or Rolling Stone... or a video clip... he was real... he was dead... and... he was still our hero!!! Just a fucking fantastic adventure it was!!! Get your asses there!!!!!! Good luck in your search... Jim is worth the trek!!!
